About the role

Responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures. Diagnose and resolve complex plumbing issues, design solutions for large-scale repairs, and serve as a technical subject-matter expert.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures, documenting findings and repair activities.
  • Diagnoses and repairs plumbing issues, utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
  • Installs water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and gas lines.
  • Serves as a technical subject-matter expert and lead for plumbing systems.
  • Designs and plans solutions for large-scale repairs or modifications.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes.
  • Coordinates with external plumbing contractors and inspectors.
  • Mentors and trains Journeyman and Apprentice Plumbers and other Maintenance associates.
  • Conducts training on proper plumbing techniques, code requirements, and safety protocols.
  • Reviews work quality to ensure it meets Master-level standards.
  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors.
  • Orders parts and replacement equipment, tracks orders, and submits warranty claims.
  • Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Supports contractors in meeting Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and contract requirements.
  • Identifies and reports deficiencies, unloads and stores equipment, transports equipment between facilities, and safely operates motor vehicles.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation to support business-critical needs outside of standard business hours.
  • Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Provides advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved.
  • Models and helps others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.
  • Assists management in correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.
  • Maintains a safe work environment, adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment (for example, forklifts, material-handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles).
  • Verifies the coverage and validity of vehicle insurance.
  • Wears company uniform and badge according to company policies and procedures.
  • Submits maintenance invoices for payment.
  • Ensures all assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles, trailers, and other items are maintained in proper working order.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in plumbing or related field.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and national plumbing codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
