About the team
The team oversees Walmart’s global software spend portfolio, collaborating with Business and Global Technology units to enhance technology operations. They lead strategic sourcing across AI, cloud, enterprise platforms, and supply chain systems, driving innovation and managing significant technology investments. Their scope includes corporate functions, stores, supply chain, and customer experience, ensuring alignment with business objectives. By applying category strategy, negotiation, financial acumen, and supplier relationship management, the team delivers cost-effective solutions that support Walmart’s technology-driven growth and operational excellence worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business goals to optimize category performance.
- Manage supplier relationships by monitoring performance, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Analyze financial and business data to identify savings opportunities and support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess needs, mitigate risks, and implement effective sourcing solutions.
- Lead contract management activities, including review, validation, and amendment processes.
- Utilize data-driven insights to improve procurement processes and supplier performance.
- Communicate recommendations clearly to influence business outcomes and foster partnerships.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in vendor relationship management and supplier performance evaluation.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze data and support business plan implementation.
- Experience in category strategy development, including identifying savings opportunities and risk mitigation.
- Skilled in negotiation and contract management adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to develop and track supplier scorecards and key performance indicators.
- Effective problem-solving skills using data-driven approaches and stakeholder collaboration.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding teams and fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, economics, technology, or related field and 2 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
- Option 2: 4 years’ experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Data modelling, data analytics, and data management.
- Qualified experience in Microsoft Excel.

Pay
- Bentonville, Arkansas: The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00.
- Sunnyvale, California: The annual salary range for this position is $91,000.00 - $169,000.00.
- Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
- Additional compensation for certain positions may also include stock.
