About the Role

Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach), communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as Store of the Community and community outreach programs.
  • Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Supervises and develops hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing recognition.
  • Promotes a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruits qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities, builds relationships with key stakeholders, and supports initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identifies and communicates goals, measures progress, and addresses improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Supports the Open Door Policy and provides guidance on applying these in business processes.
  • Fosters a high-performing team culture that embraces differences in people, ideas, and experiences.
  • Works collaboratively, builds trusting relationships, and communicates with impact to motivate and influence.
  • Attracts and retains talent, empowers and develops associates, and recognizes contributions.
  • Maintains high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance; supports Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.

Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional pay may include:

  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
  • Complex Structure adjustments for external challenges.
  • State Pay Differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.
