About the Role
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach), communicates and collaborates with associates at all levels regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community, community outreach programs).
- Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and improve processes for a high-quality customer experience.
- Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses to align with sales.
- Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develops action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, and promoting recognition and a belonging mindset.
- Coordinates and oversees job-related activities, builds relationships with key stakeholders, supports business initiatives, and measures progress toward goals while addressing improvement opportunities.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity; supports the Open Door Policy and provides guidance on business processes.
- Fosters a high-performing, inclusive workplace by embracing differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences; creates opportunities for associates to thrive.
- Works collaboratively, builds trusting relationships, and communicates with impact to motivate and influence teams.

Requirements
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities selling firearms: Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities selling only ammunition: May require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (e.g., through Live Better U and Bellevue University).
- Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 – $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
- Complex Structure adjustments for external challenges.
- State Pay Differential to meet legislative requirements (where applicable).
