About the Role

Provides leadership and development for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, promotes recognition, and fosters a belonging mindset to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth. Coordinates job-related activities, supports business initiatives, and ensures accountability while demonstrating adaptability and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores to provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach); communicating business objectives, initiatives, and company direction.
• Models exceptional customer service by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives, resolving customer issues, and implementing process improvements.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, mission, values, and ethics by implementing action plans and supporting the Open Door Policy.
• Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing P&L statements, managing budgets, ensuring effective merchandise presentation, and mitigating shrink to achieve sales and profit goals.
• Embraces diversity, builds strong team relationships, and mentors associates to foster a culture of belonging and high performance.
• Maintains integrity, ethics, and compliance while supporting Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.
• Delivers results with a customer-first mindset, balancing short- and long-term priorities to support company purpose.

Requirements

• 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• For facilities selling firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
• For facilities selling only ammunition: may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
• Must complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
• General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments or Complex Structure pay based on location or external challenges.
