About the role

The Director, Digital Strategy for Homepage & App provides visionary leadership in developing and executing comprehensive digital strategies that align with business objectives and customer needs. This role oversees digital platforms, driving innovation and operational excellence through collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. The position ensures effective resource management, continuous improvement, and adherence to ethical standards while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. By leveraging analytics and emerging technologies, the Director advances Walmart’s digital presence and reputation, supporting long-term business growth and stakeholder engagement.

About the team

The Digital Experience and Engagement (DX&E) team leads enterprise-wide initiatives to advance the digital member journey. Collaborating across functions, the team designs and implements strategies that enhance digital experiences and support business objectives. Members contribute through leadership, strategic thinking, analytics, and clear communication, driving innovation and operational excellence. By delivering impactful digital media initiatives, the team fosters continuous improvement within a leading global brand, ensuring alignment with business goals and promoting data-driven decision-making to advance digital transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive digital strategies for Homepage & App that align with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to enhance digital communication platforms and drive innovation.
  • Analyze operational processes and metrics to measure outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Direct content strategy for digital channels, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging and priorities.
  • Foster talent development through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships to support business goals and community engagement.
  • Promote adherence to company standards of integrity and ethics across all initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive business and digital strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in talent development, mentoring, and fostering high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage digital communications, reputation management, and crisis response effectively.
  • Proficiency in leveraging analytics and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to enhance digital platforms and advocacy efforts.
  • Exceptional project management skills with a focus on delivering strategic initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethical standards, and promoting a customer-centric environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or related field OR 7 years’ experience in public relations, communications, or related field.
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and implementing issue advocacy or grassroots projects.
  • Experience in developing digital communication channels.
  • Experience in Walmart Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience managing digital platforms or social networks.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 - $220,000. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) based on location.
