(USA) Developmental Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance
Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting Developmental Technicians specializing in General Facilities and Maintenance. About the role
As a Developmental Technician specializing in General Facilities and Maintenance, you will work under the guidance of the local Market Manager and team, following established schedules and guidelines to perform inspections, cleaning, and repairs. All primary responsibilities will be assisted or performed under the direct supervision of an experienced technician.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment) and hand/power tools.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders supporting stores and associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to safely operate equipment and tools.
Requirements
- 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
- Comfortable moving up and down ladders and working at heights frequently.
- Able to sit or stand for long periods.
- Able to work in various temperatures.
- Must maintain an excellent driving record.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass motor vehicle report.
- Minimum Qualifications (one of the following):
- 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
- 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
- Ability to read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years.
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
- No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
