Position Summary

What you'll do
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support business analytics and reporting needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and translate them into effective data models and solutions.
Implement data integration and ingestion strategies using cloud and big data technologies such as Apache Spark and data lakes.
Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with regulatory standards throughout the data lifecycle.
Optimize data storage, transformation, and retrieval processes to enhance performance and scalability.
Develop and test code for data processing, supporting deployment and documentation efforts.
Stay current with emerging data engineering trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

The External Data Engineering team specializes in integrating and transforming extensive external datasets to support strategic data intelligence. The team develops scalable data pipelines, applies advanced data modeling, and utilizes technologies such as Apache Spark and cloud platforms. Focused on delivering high-quality, governed data solutions, team members collaborate to enhance business insights and operational efficiency. Continuous learning and innovation are encouraged to address complex data challenges, ensuring robust data governance, security, and compliance while enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What you'll bring
Extensive experience in data engineering across multiple platforms.
Strong proficiency in Scala and Spark for data processing, analytics, and building scalable pipelines.
Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as BigQuery, GCS, and Dataproc, along with near real-time data ingestion using Kafka and Spark Structured Streaming.
Strong working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL systems, with an in-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Proficiency in Git/version control, CI/CD pipelines, workflow schedulers like Airflow, and working with large-scale datasets.
Familiarity with BI/visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.
Hands-on exposure to Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI is a strong plus!
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
Option 3: Master's degree in Computer Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
Data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics, Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
