About the role
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives effectively.
Responsibilities
- Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community and community outreach programs).
- Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved, develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies, and provides process improvement leadership for a high-quality customer experience.
- Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses to align with sales.
- Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, and develops action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
- Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, communicating goals, measuring progress, and addressing improvement opportunities.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
- Builds high-performing teams by embracing differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences, and fosters a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
- Works collaboratively, builds trusting relationships, communicates with impact, and motivates teams through positivity and influence.

Requirements
- 2 years of college; OR
- 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
- 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities that sell only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and state pay differentials may apply where applicable to meet legislative requirements.
