About the role
As a Cake Decorator you will drive member service in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.
Responsibilities
- Be a Team Member
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and helps educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
- Communicates and develops interpersonal skills for providing customer service.
- Being flexible to the needs of the business, maintaining in-stock levels, and controlling shrinkage.
- Be an Expert
- Plans the bakery production ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of bakery decorative designs.
- Follows recipe measurement instructions and works with a variety of products (e.g., decorating bags, tips, nozzles) to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items.
- Ensures adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management.
- Operates, maintains, and sanitizes equipment and demonstrates understanding of product and layout execution.
- Be a Techie
- Leverages digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
- Utilizes handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind.
- Adapts to new tools and encourages others to use them.
- Be an Owner
- Drives the performance of the bakery area ensuring quality and date-control standards, eliminating waste.
- Prepares for seasonal events that impact bakery volume (e.g., holidays, graduations, family events).
- Identifies member needs, assists members with purchasing decisions, and resolves member issues and concerns.
- Be a Talent Ambassador
- Values the members’ experience in Bakery and models high-quality service and products.
- Interacts with associates to understand roadblocks and assists in training, developing, influencing, and inspiring them.
- Works in a style that is respectful, supportive, and team-oriented.
Requirements
- 6 months’ experience in a fresh production area.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
