(USA) Cake Decorator

As a Cake Decorator, you will drive member service in your area to deliver more of what members love, for less. You will collaborate with other associates to ensure the total club meets member expectations.

Responsibilities

• Be a Team Member
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources.
  • Communicate and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service.
  • Be flexible to the needs of the business while maintaining instock levels and controlling shrinkage.

  • Plan bakery production to ensure consistency in quality and accuracy of bakery decorative designs.
  • Follow recipe measurement instructions and work with a variety of products (e.g., decorating bags, tips, nozzles) to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management.
  • Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment while demonstrating understanding of product and layout execution.

  • Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
  • Utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind.
  • Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.

  • Drive the performance of the bakery area by ensuring quality and date control standards while eliminating waste.
  • Prepare for seasonal events that impact bakery volume (e.g., holidays, graduations, family events).
  • Identify member needs, assist with purchasing decisions, and resolve member issues and concerns.

  • Act as a brand advocate by valuing the member experience in Bakery and modeling high-quality service and products.
  • Interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training, developing, influencing, and inspiring them.

Requirements

• 6 months of experience in a fresh production area.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Acknowledge that the position requires successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if hired.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cake decorating.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 to $27.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
