About the role
Walmart is revolutionizing healthcare and seeks an Associate Optometrist to join the Vision Center team. This role requires autonomy, trustworthiness, and a passion for providing evidence-based vision care.
Responsibilities
- Provide vision care to ensure patient health and well-being, including prescribing medications and other treatment options.
- Deliver routine vision care using evidence-based care guidelines.
- Educate patients and store associates on eye health, including contact lens care, disease state management, and safety factors.
- Consult with other health professionals to prepare patient care plans, adhering to optometry scope of practice per state board.
- Embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation, integrating advanced technologies like digital phoropters, EMR, and Maestro (OCT/retinal camera combo).
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
- Licensed optometrist in good standing in state of practice.
- EMR/EHR experience.
- Eagerness to embrace new equipment technology and advanced instrumentation.
- Experience in treating and managing ocular disease.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $135,000.00 - $200,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and Complex Structure.

Hours and schedule vary based on the Vision Center's needs and the individual's qualifications.
