About the role
Join us as a Portfolio Manager, Private Equity to be based in New York, focusing on our private equity efforts.
Responsibilities
- Participate in sourcing and diligence efforts across primary, co-investment, and secondary opportunities, including diligence strategy, conducting analyses, and forming independent investment views.
- Involved in investment decision-making, presenting recommendations to the Investment Committee (IC) and discussions, including addressing complex questions and articulating risk/return considerations.
- Develop and execute portfolio construction strategy, including asset allocation, pacing, diversification, and manager selection aligned with overall investment objectives.
- Maintain and expand senior relationships with fund managers, sponsors, and key market participants to enhance proprietary deal flow, market intelligence, and co-investment opportunities.
- Oversee in-depth due diligence processes, including financial, operational, and qualitative assessments, ensuring rigor and consistency across investments.
- Provide mentorship to junior investment professionals, ensuring high-quality analysis, professional development, and effective execution of investment processes.
- Collaborate with global teams (Munich, Singapore, and other regions) and other asset classes (Private Credit) to align on investment strategy, share insights, and coordinate global investment activities.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (legal, tax, risk, ESG, etc.) to structure, execute, and monitor investments, ensuring alignment with firm policies and best practices.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including new product development, platform expansion, and exploration of emerging private equity strategies or geographies. This can include developing and executing the secondary activities and third party offering.
- Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).
Requirements
- Typically 7–10+ years in private equity, fund-of-funds investing, investment banking, or a related field with demonstrated progression of responsibility.
- Proven track record in leading investments across primaries, secondaries, and/or co-investments, including responsibility for investment decisions and portfolio outcomes.
- Deep expertise in financial analysis and valuation, with the ability to synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information into clear investment judgments.
- Demonstrated leadership capability a plus, including influencing senior stakeholders, and driving outcomes in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience leading Investment Committee discussions and engaging with senior external partners.
- Established network within the private equity ecosystem, including GPs, intermediaries, and advisors.
- Able to operate strategically while maintaining attention to detail, managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
Qualifications
