Responsibilities
- Design and install electrical subsystems on small robots and ground-based vehicles.
- Cook up designs and installations under the direction of senior engineers.
- Design electrical topology of Drive By Wire systems, including harness design and pin mapping.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electrical wiring and harnesses.
- Analyze serial bus (i.e., CAN) electrical signals and data for troubleshooting.
- Program electronic modules and perform client-out tasks.
- Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental electronic components and systems.
Requirements

- Design electrical system diagrams, including harnesses.
- Collaborate with other engineers on routing harnesses and placing electronic modules.
- Program embedded modules using C and logical visual programming languages.
- Assemble and test experimental wiring harnesses and electronic modules.
- Troubleshoot electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations.
- Diagnose and correct electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures.
- Work from wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Adjust and replace defective circuitry and electronic components.
- Test electronics units and analyze results to evaluate performance.
- Plan, complete, and record periodic electrical testing.
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
Qualifications
- Essential Education, Work Experience, And Job Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electronics systems integration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with CAD/Circuit design.
- Knowledgeable in building and testing harnesses according to IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Experience with electronics wire routings.
- Basic mechanical assembly knowledge.
- Experience using hand tools is preferred.
- Proficient with office software including word processing, spreadsheets, Outlook, and calendaring.
