About the role

Fitch’s North American Corporates Group seeks an Associate Director for Retail & Consumer coverage in New York, Chicago, or Toronto. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree, preferably with an MBA or advanced degree, and 4+ years of relevant experience, including coverage or knowledge of the Retail & Consumer sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse key quantitative and qualitative factors affecting credit quality of Retail & Consumer companies
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models
  • Meet with Retail & Consumer industry management teams
  • Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees
  • Communicate rating rationale to external audiences through meetings, conference calls, press releases, and research reports
  • Write timely and effective research on topical issues
  • Evaluate other credits within Corporates and related credit groups
  • Represent Fitch in industry association and regulatory body panels
  • Mentor junior members of the Retail & Consumer sector

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree at minimum, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • CFA/CPA preferred
  • 4+ years relevant experience, including coverage or knowledge of Retail & Consumer sectors
  • Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience preferred
  • Employee management experience preferred
  • Expertise in Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shift between tasks
  • Proactive and successful interaction with various stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding and keen interest in Retail & Consumer sectors
  • Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis
  • Financial statement analysis skills
  • Experience interpreting complex legal documents
  • Leadership and proactive interaction skills

Pay

Base pay for the role ranges between $115,000 and $135,000, with actual salaries determined individually based on factors like education, training, experience, and performance.
