About the role
Fitch’s North American Corporates Group is seeking a Director for coverage of the Retail and Consumer sector, ideally located in New York, Chicago, or Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Analyse key quantitative and qualitative factors affecting credit quality of Retail and Consumer companies
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models
- Meet with Retail and Consumer industry management teams
- Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees
- Communicate rating rationale to external audiences (institutional investors, sell-side analysts, media)
- Write timely and effective research on topical issues
- Evaluate other credits within Corporates and other related credit groups
- Represent Fitch in industry association and regulatory body panels
- Mentor junior members of the Retail & Consumer sector
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree at minimum, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- CFA/CPA certification preferred
- 4+ years relevant experience, including coverage or knowledge of Retail & Consumer sectors
- Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience beneficial
- Employee management experience beneficial
- Expertise in Excel and Word
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities
- Proactive interaction with various stakeholders
Qualifications

- Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis
- Financial statement analysis skills
- Experience interpreting complex legal documents

Pay
The expected base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $135,000, with actual salaries determined based on individual qualifications and performance.
