About the role
The US Corn Seed & Trait Portfolio Lead develops and implements brand and product strategies to enhance market presence and drive sales within the organization. This role works within cross-functional teams responsible for the development of the crop's five-year strategic plan and the execution of the Year 1 budget.
Responsibilities
- Determines Gross-to-Net (pricing and market funding) for the crop's branded and licensed trait and/or germplasm products, aligned with customer-facing teams' targets and corporate goals.
- Led the Seed Portfolio Management sub-team to develop and implement contingency plans around broad in-season issues while providing leadership on other Commercial Operations Teams as needed.
- Co-create tactical strategies regarding supply management and obsolescence in conjunction with customer-facing teams and supply chain.
- Work with the foundation planning team to build seedstock crop plans to deliver on the Long Range Plan.
- Serve as a coach for the Seed Brand Portfolio Expert who are responsible for Y+1 production planning volumes and individual product pricing.
- Assist in developing a team of high-potential individuals that can become future leaders of the business.
- Collaborative leadership on marketing tactics and market funding budgets that drive overall US sales and are in line with the strategic plan.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of industry dynamics including competitive trait offerings and market share.
- Guide development of germplasm and trait portfolios within our brand families to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to understand customer needs, product performance, and future strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Leadership and influence key stakeholders through challenges and opportunities; facilitates solutions; Creates pathways for successful outcomes that customer-facing teams see and believe in;
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing activities of cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships;
- Strategic, critical thinker across complex situations; Understanding of ROI on key investments;
- Analytical skills (comprehension of basic statistics, mastery of MS Excel and/or other data analysis and visualization tools);
- Business acumen; Results orientation with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously;
- Excellent oral, written and communication skills to onboard, motivate & engage others at all levels of the organization.
Preferred
- MS and/or MBA
- 10+ years of experience leading teams or projects in Sales, Marketing, or a technical role, combined with row crops experience;
Pay
$170,560.00 - $255,840.00
