About the role
The Urology Medical Assistant assists with office procedures as directed by physicians, takes vitals, performs phlebotomy, handles lab telephone calls, and serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other staff members at The Essentials Center.
Responsibilities
- Ordering supplies and stocking rooms
- Running urinalysis tests and taking vitals
- Serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other staff
- Prepping records and patient charts for clinic
- Cleaning instruments
- Chaperoning during exams
- Assisting with clinic procedures
- Lab ordering
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- MA, CMA, or Phlebotomy certification required
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Minimum of 6–12 months in current position required (must be in good standing and performing at or above expectations)
- Basic computer knowledge
- Medical terminology knowledge
Skills
- Ability to perform venipunctures, phlebotomies, and other procedures as indicated
- Ability to comply with OSHA and HIPAA policies
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Exceptional customer service and patient-interaction skills
