Urology Medical Assistant

About the role

The Urology Medical Assistant assists with office procedures as directed by physicians, takes vitals, performs phlebotomy, handles lab telephone calls, and serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other staff members at The Essentials Center.

Responsibilities

• Ordering supplies and stocking rooms
• Running urinalysis tests and taking vitals
• Serving as a liaison between patients, physicians, and other staff
• Prepping records and patient charts for clinic
• Cleaning instruments
• Chaperoning during exams
• Assisting with clinic procedures
• Lab ordering

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• MA, CMA, or Phlebotomy certification required
• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred
• Minimum of 6–12 months in current position required (must be in good standing and performing at or above expectations)
• Basic computer knowledge
• Medical terminology knowledge

Skills

• Ability to perform venipunctures, phlebotomies, and other procedures as indicated
• Ability to comply with OSHA and HIPAA policies
• Ability to effectively multi-task
• Exceptional customer service and patient-interaction skills
