Urologic Hospitalist

About the role

This physician will focus on inpatient urologic care, emergency department consults, hospital transfers, urgent surgical interventions, and care coordination across participating hospital facilities. This role is designed for physicians who enjoy acute care urology and want to practice in a hospital-based environment without the demands of a traditional outpatient clinic schedule.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage inpatient urology consults
• Conduct daily rounds and coordinate discharge planning
• Provide emergency and urgent urologic care
• Perform hospital-based procedures and surgeries as clinically indicated
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Support transfer-center decision making and regional referral management
• Maintain timely documentation and compliance with quality metrics

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Urology Residency Program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
• Eligible for medical licensure in Indiana
• DEA registration and ability to obtain hospital privileges

Preferred Experience

Experience in hospital-based or acute-care urology, strong collaborative and communication skills, interest in process improvement, quality initiatives, and service-line development.
