Hospitalist
Patient Care
Provides quality care to the patient. Responds to patients' calls and messages and attends to patients. Maintains patient and business records including the completion of daily patient encounters. Observes patients for signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and reports immediately in accordance with appropriate policy. Recognizes emergencies and responds appropriately in adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
Administers immunizations in alignment with medical standards and school or regulatory guidelines.
Medical Director Duties (if applicable)
Ensures provider compliance with patient access, patient care, etc. Communicates provider concerns to administration, communicates initiatives and solutions to providers. Completes provider assessment and reviews including reviewing this with the provider. Develops and maintains work and call schedules.
Safety and Infection Control Standards
Affirms compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality improvement and other regulatory standards. Implements standard and transmission-based precautions and ensures patient safety during clinic visits, in accordance with the hospital/regulatory policies. Maintains a clean clinic working environment. Reports any safety hazards or violations in patient or clinic environment to clinic manager or designee.
About the Role
Full-time Hospitalist providing high-quality medical care and treatment to patients across a variety of clinical needs. Offers professional consultation and medical oversight to clinical staff to support safe, effective care delivery. Conducts routine patient examinations to assess health status and identify potential medical concerns. Diagnoses illnesses and injuries and develops appropriate treatment plans to support patient recovery and well-being. Promotes overall patient health through preventive care, education, and early intervention strategies.
Qualifications
- Completed residency training.
- Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy.
- American Heart Association, Basic Life Support-HCP, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification.
- Medical Physician Licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
