Urogynecology APP

Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join a specialized Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Reconstruction practice. This clinic‑based position provides comprehensive care to women with a broad range of pelvic floor and urogynecologic conditions. The APRN will evaluate and manage new and established patients, develop individualized treatment plans, provide patient education, and collaborate closely with the urogynecology surgical team. The practice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders, urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, interstitial cystitis, and complications related to surgical mesh.

Responsibilities

• Manage acute, episodic outpatient care and health‑maintenance needs of a dedicated patient population.
• Develop a plan of care consistent with established clinical protocols.
• Demonstrate competent, cost‑effective pharmacologic administration and management.
• Collaborate with medical director(s) to develop clinical protocols and procedures for outpatient care delivery.
• Coordinate in‑services for staff, physicians, and partners to promote the profession and organization.
• Work with management to ensure collaborative problem solving, including identification, mediation, and resolution of team issues.
• Appropriately use and interpret diagnostic testing.
• Volunteer on a hospital committee or community project.
• Attend yearly CEU training courses and report findings in staff in‑services.
• Provide care to patients in a clean and safe environment.
• Facilitate development, implementation, and review of standards, policies, procedures, quality outcome indicators, and other work projects to enhance care delivery.
• Perform health assessments that may include basic physical examinations.
• Interpret physical assessment findings and diagnostic results to determine accurate differential diagnoses.
• Establish appropriate follow‑up plans as necessary.
• Develop and implement formal and informal teaching plans for patients, families, staff, and the community.
• Promote patient‑ and family‑informed decision making regarding treatment options.
• Participate in departmental continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts and support issue‑based improvements.
• Complete charting and billable assignments in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in the Science of Nursing.
• Current APRN license or endorsement permit.
• Completion of APRN protocols within the first 90 days of employment, with bi‑annual renewal updates.
• Participation in at least one professional conference and completion of a minimum of 15 continuing education units per year.
• Demonstrated strength in leadership, multitasking, autonomy, entrepreneurial, and public‑relation skills.
• Ability to pass color‑blind testing for point‑of‑care tests requiring color change.

Physical Demands

• Visual acuity and hand‑eye coordination to perform clinical tasks.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 lb up to 40 times daily.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb six times daily.
• Must pass color‑blind test for specific point‑of‑care testing.
