APP ( NP or PA) Urogynecology
About the role
Carilion Clinic is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established Urogynecology practice in Roanoke, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for an APP who is interested in developing or continuing a career in Urogynecology. You will join a collaborative team and have the opportunity to manage your own patient population while maintaining access to physician support and specialty resources. The APP will practice with a high level of independence, evaluating and managing patients with a variety of urogynecologic and pelvic floor conditions. The provider will see both new patients and established follow-up patients and play an important role in providing continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Independently evaluate and manage new and established Urogynecology patients
- Obtain comprehensive histories and perform appropriate physical examinations
- Diagnose and develop treatment plans for common urogynecologic conditions
- Provide ongoing management and follow-up care
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Provide pre- and postoperative care as appropriate
- Perform office-based procedures based on training, experience, and scope of practice
- Collaborate with Urogynecology physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary care team
- Coordinate care with pelvic floor therapy and other specialties as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Current or eligible for Virginia licensure
- Appropriate national certification
- Ability and confidence to evaluate and manage patients independently
- Excellent clinical, communication, and patient education skills
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
- Previous experience in Urogynecology, Urology, Gynecology, or Women's Health is preferred
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited Physician Assistant program required
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience preferred
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Nurse Practitioners must also hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Must be eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required as appropriate to the position
- Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or Nursing, and applicable certifying bodies
- Must meet practice and managed care credentialing requirements and qualify for malpractice insurance coverage
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer systems required

Pay
$107,993.60 - $172,785.60
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
