Urgent Care Veterinarian

About the role

PawDoc Surgery and Dental in Katy, Texas is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our team. This position will help bridge the gap between general practice and emergency/overnight care, offering non-life-threatening urgent care for pets in need.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care for pets in need, managing non-life-threatening conditions and injuries
• Perform routine examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
• Collaborate with other veterinarians and staff to develop comprehensive care plans
• Communicate effectively with pet owners, ensuring they understand their pet’s condition and treatment plan
• Participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
• Current state license to practice veterinary medicine
• Experience in urgent care and/or emergency medicine preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with pet owners and team members
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Qualifications

• Passing scores on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed

• Comfortable working with a variety of animals
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
