Urgent Care Technician

Overview

The Urgent Care Tech position at Duly Health and Care offers full-time work from 9am to 9pm M-F, 9am to 4pm Sat/Sun, with 2-3 weekday shifts per week and every other weekend. Differential pay is offered for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Deliver urgent care to ICC and Express Care patients under the direction of a licensed practitioner.
• Support nursing and medical staff with the care of Immediate/Express Care patients.
• Provide direct care to assigned patients, performing tasks such as venipuncture, IV insertion and removal, vital signs, and specimen collection.
• Receive and triage patients, assessing and evaluating their symptoms, and determining if they need immediate medical attention.
• Complete patient rounds and respond to phone, nurse, and physician requests to ensure patient and family needs are met.
• Perform delivery of patient care, including drawing blood, starting IVs, administering prescribed injections, assisting with ambulation and transfer, specimen collection, and completing daily/weekly/monthly checklists.
• Assist with activities of daily living, wound care, dressing changes, suturing, and other procedural setups as directed.
• Respond to call lights and assist with activities of daily living.
• Participate in quality improvement and sustainability activities.
• Document patient care activities, including triage assessments into EPIC, ADL, vital signs, weights, and procedure/treatments performed.
• Maintain inventory and department cleanliness, monitoring, requesting, and re-stocking supplies, and checking assigned daily carts and signs off.
• Empty and/or replace waste receptacles/needle bins.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• EMT-Paramedic Certification required.
• CPR Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification required.
• International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certifications a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience in an acute care environment, including Emergency Room, Immediate Care Center, or Ambulance.
• At least 1-2 years of experience starting IVs, drawing blood, and administering injections.
• May be required to complete Phlebotomy certification within 6 months of employment.

Pay

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.43-23.63 for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistant the base pay range is $22.97-24.57; EMT-P's is $20.59-30.89/hour, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
