Urgent Care Senior Veterinary Assistant

About the role

The Full-Time and Part-Time Senior Veterinary Assistants at UrgentVet are integral members of a dynamic team providing comprehensive care for canine and feline patients in urgent situations. This role involves hands-on patient care, team leadership, and client service in a state-of-the-art urgent care clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient care
• Lead and mentor other veterinary assistants
• Handle animals with care and professionalism
• Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, catheter placement, and laboratory analysis
• Support facility maintenance and client education
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and healthy communication skills
• Have excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills
• Be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Have prior customer service experience
• Have prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting
• Be able to lift 40 lbs

Qualifications

• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation
