Urgent Care Physician

About the role

National Wound Physician Group is seeking a part-time physician to provide bedside wound care in the post-acute care setting across skilled nursing facilities and long-term acute care hospitals in the Charlottesville, VA area. This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound management at skilled nursing facilities and long-term acute care hospitals
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Treat approximately 20-30 patients per day across 2-3 facilities per day
• Complete clinical documentation at point of care in real-time during rounds using proprietary wound-specific EMR
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in Virginia
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week
• Willingness to travel within a 40–60 mile radius of practice location

Qualifications

• Open to physicians at all experience levels; wound management training provided
• Learn from highly qualified wound-certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors

Training

• Paid training provided during onboarding plus a 6-month wound care fellowship
• Become an expert in wound management with full physician-level training and knowledge for clinical excellence

Schedule

• Part-time role: minimum of 3 weekdays per week
• Full-time role: 4–5 days per week (Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm)
• No nights, no call, no weekend clinical responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits
