About the Role
We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, emergency room, or high-acuity family medicine experience treating both adult and pediatric patients to join our welcoming and diverse community of providers.
Responsibilities
- Examining and treating patients with acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections
- Taking patients’ medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Educating and counseling patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Administering vaccinations and referring patients to additional care
- Recognizing serious conditions and directing patients to emergency care when necessary
- Performing applicable office procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting
- Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
Each provider will work an anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
- Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
- One (1) year of full-time experience in an Emergency Medicine setting required (will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience)
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
- Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
