About the role
An Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides outpatient medical services in a fast-paced setting, handling a diverse patient population from birth to death. The role involves credentialing within 60-90 days, with responsibilities centered on providing quality, efficient urgent care services in a community-oriented outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Performing procedures such as laceration repairs, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, minor burn management, skin lesion care, orthopedic injury stabilization, splinting, casting, joint reduction, and diagnostic testing including X-ray and EKG interpretation.
- Managing a variable patient volume, delivering acute care across a broad spectrum of conditions.
- Working 3 days per week, typically from 8 am to 8 pm, until permanent staff are hired.
Qualifications & Skills
- Current VA license is required.
- Experience in outpatient urgent care and performing procedures listed above.
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to handle diverse cases.
