About the role

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at Banner Urgent Care Clinic in Loveland, Colorado. This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Takes and records vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements
  • Documents pain scores as appropriate
  • Prepares patient for exam and treatment
  • Aids in exams and minor in-office procedures such as blood pressure, respiration, heart rate/pulse, temperature, phlebotomy, ear irrigation, and EKG
  • Acts as a chaperone as needed
  • Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions and personal protective equipment
  • Prioritizes patient flow through clinical processes
  • Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling
  • Communicates test results to patients
  • Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation
  • Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas
  • Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas
  • Manages medication ordering and tasks related to all medications
  • Develops and maintains effective communication mechanisms with all external and internal customers
  • Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts
  • Completes on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed
  • Works under the direct supervision of the providers and interacts with all levels of staff in various departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA) with proof of current membership from AMT, AAMA, NHA, or NCCT
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion

Qualifications

  • Experience with office medical procedures and treatments
  • Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software

This position is eligible for a 20% Banner Employee discount through Weber State University, offering a hybrid online PTR program that can lead to a PTR license within 2 semesters.

Pay

$21.01 - $31.51 / hour

Schedule

Only 3 days per week, 4 days off, 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
