About the role
The University of Michigan Health-West Cascade facility is seeking a full-time, board certified Family Nurse Practitioner to join their well-established and comprehensive urgent care team.
Responsibilities
- Performing full spectrum of ambulatory, urgent care services for patients, including acute, chronic, and specialty care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff.
- Coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff.
- Perform comprehensive evaluation and examination.
- Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and point of care testing.
- Work independently, supervising physician by phone and MA/RN available for immediate NP support.
- Supervise MA’s and RN’s in splint and tray setup.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of Emergency or Urgent Care Experience.
- No call or administrative requirements.
- Every third weekend and one summer and one winter holiday.
- Support staff available: Needs to work independently.
Qualifications
- Proficient in performing minor procedures.
- Ability to work independently.
Skills
- Simple laceration repairs.
- Slit lamp.
- Foreign body removal (subcutaneous, eye, nose, ear, and vaginal).
- POC testing.
- Nursemaid reduction.
- Simple finger/toe reduction.

Schedule
- 10 - 12-hour shifts (120 hours per month).
