About the role

The University of Michigan Health-West Cascade facility is seeking a full-time, board certified Family Nurse Practitioner to join their well-established and comprehensive urgent care team.

Responsibilities

• Performing full spectrum of ambulatory, urgent care services for patients, including acute, chronic, and specialty care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff.
• Coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff.
• Perform comprehensive evaluation and examination.
• Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests and point of care testing.
• Work independently, supervising physician by phone and MA/RN available for immediate NP support.
• Supervise MA’s and RN’s in splint and tray setup.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of Emergency or Urgent Care Experience.
• No call or administrative requirements.
• Every third weekend and one summer and one winter holiday.
• Support staff available: Needs to work independently.

Qualifications

• Proficient in performing minor procedures.
• Ability to work independently.

Skills

• Simple laceration repairs.
• Slit lamp.
• Foreign body removal (subcutaneous, eye, nose, ear, and vaginal).
• POC testing.
• Nursemaid reduction.
• Simple finger/toe reduction.

Schedule

• 10 - 12-hour shifts (120 hours per month).
• 1:3 weekend coverage.
