About the role
The Crisis Clinician - LSW/LPC, LISW/LPCC, LISW-S/LPCC-S at Harbor is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The schedule starts at 8:00a - 4:30p Monday - Friday, transitioning to 10 - 6 Monday - Thursday and 9 - 5 on Fridays after training, which is approximately 4 weeks from the start date.
Responsibilities
- Aid in providing access to care for clients.
- Key provider in initial Diagnostic Assessment of new, ongoing or crisis clients.
- Completes discharge or linkage to other additional services as needed.
- Completes diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and updates as required.
- Types clinical documentation in the appropriate format and submits all documentation according to Harbor policy.
- Provides crisis intervention services and is available for consultation.
- Facilitates referrals to appropriate internal and/or external resources.
- Manages caseload effectively and transfers/discharges clients in a timely manner.
- Maintains a therapeutic and safe environment while supporting clients receiving services.
- Facilitates interviews with individuals and/or families to identify presenting problems, assess mental status, and gather relevant facts of psychosocial history.
- Provides expertise in assessing psychiatric crises and crisis intervention.
- Meets clients in crisis situations, offering detailed safety plans or hospitalization if necessary.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or a related Behavioral/Mental health field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience with youth and adult substance use assessment is a plus.
- Requires license to practice as a Social Worker/ Counselor in Ohio (LSW/LPC, LPCC/LISW).
- Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with a variety of audiences, and willing to represent the organization within the medical/health-care community.
- Must be proficient and accurate in computer use.
- Must have good documentation, treatment and assessment skills.
- Prefer licensure in chemical dependency or proven experience and training in treating substance use disorders.
- Must have valid Driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and deemed insurable through Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
- CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications required within 90 days of employment.
