Actalent is seeking an Application Engineer to design and apply equipment, with a focus on steam control products. This role requires expertise in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, and a strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Utilize SolidWorks to create drawings for quotation and manufacturing purposes.
- Collaborate with Sales to produce application drawings for obtaining customer orders.
- Recommend and assist in sourcing/quoting components suitable for each application.
- Generate libraries for technical works used in the creation of technical drawings.
- Expand duties to design and manufacture equipment in-house.
- Conduct FEA analysis to ensure the structural integrity and performance of designs.
- Understand pumps and motors, and their relation to pressures and flow inside piping systems to optimize design performance.
- Review orders with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams when required.
- Demonstrate eagerness to learn and develop appropriate tools to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Expertise in mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D.
- Experience in project management and application engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with SolidWorks and FEA analysis.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing processes (welding, laser cutting, forming, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 2-5 years of application and/or design engineering experience.
Pay
$35.00 - $45.00/hr.
