URBAN AGRICULTURE EDUCATION MANAGER

About the role

The Urban Agriculture Education Manager leads and grows the Black Butterfly Urban Farming Academy (BBUFA), a key component of the Farm Alliance of Baltimore’s urban agriculture education and training initiative. BBUFA supports Baltimore’s next generation of growers through a multi-tiered approach including introductory workshops, cohort-based farmer training, and an emerging farm business incubator.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of BBUFA programs
• Support participants throughout their journey from introductory workshops to farm business incubation
• Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations and institutions to enhance program offerings
• Refine and improve program components based on feedback and outcomes
• Ensure high-quality, mission-aligned programming that fosters community-centered learning and equitable access to opportunity

Requirements

• Strong experience in program management, community-based education, workforce development, or related fields
• A commitment to community-centered learning, equitable access to opportunity, and building a just and sustainable food system
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (agriculture, education, sustainability, etc.) or equivalent experience

Qualifications

• Experience in urban agriculture or related fields
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
