UR Coordinator
Responsibilities
The UR Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and patients to promote quality care outcomes and the effective use of resources. Additional duties include accurately interpreting treatment plans and medical records in accordance with current standards of care, along with accurately interpreting participating Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) certification requirements. The UR Coordinator manages the treatment activities offered to the patient, including the appropriate clinical screening of admissions, establishment of treatment plans, interface with the treatment team/external case managers/managed care organizations, and implementation and supervision of the discharge planning.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three to five years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
- Experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, CMS quality improvement guidelines, in particular experience working with Medicare/Medicaid and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
- R.N. license is required - with BSN highly preferred.
- Any additional certification related to case management, mental health, and/or quality improvement highly regarded.
Additional Requirements
- Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
