About the role
Springwoods Behavioral Health, an 80-bed behavioral health facility located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, provides acute inpatient treatment for adolescent, adult, and specialty program for women. The hospital also offers outpatient treatment. Our six-acre campus is adjacent to a 123-acre Audubon Wildlife and Bird Sanctuary, which is held in perpetuity and cannot be developed from its natural state. This provides Springwoods with a peaceful setting for those embarked on the road to recovery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of Springwoods Behavioral Health's utilization review functions.
- Achieves the goals of clinical, financial and utilization as set forth in the UM plan by effective management and communication.
- Functions as the internal resource on issues related to the appropriate utilization of resources, coordination of care across the continuum and utilization review.
- Responsible for carrying out assignments in a manner to assure success in financial management, quality and operational management objectives.
- Participates in program development and unit performance improvement.
- Consistently demonstrates the core values and mission statement of Springwoods Behavioral Health.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Nursing, Social Work/Counseling, Psychology).
- Three to five years work related experience in Inpatient psychiatric setting as a treatment team member or utilization review experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical records review processes and utilization standards.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and county regulations pertaining to patient care.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex information.
- Effective communication skills for advocating on behalf of residents and collaborating with medical providers.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with patients and their treatment needs.
