UPW/IWT Combo Welder/Pipefitter (Taylor, TX) - Austin Industrial
About the role
The Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and Industrial Wastewater (IWT) team is responsible for providing continuous, safe, and high-quality utilities to the Samsung Austin Semiconductor campus. This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week. There is no per diem and no relocation funding.
Responsibilities
- Knows how to prioritize daily tasks
- Able to work with little to no supervision on new projects or assignments
- Must have a good understanding of equipment and processes
- Demonstrate adaptability
- Effective communication skills to communicate with customers and supervisors
- Responsible for assembling pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment
- Extensive knowledge of Poly Pro/PVDF piping and welding
- Read and understand prints
- Diagnose piping issues and correct in the field
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and technical school certification preferred (State Plumbing License or equivalent)
- Typically requires 5+ years of experience
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment
- Extensive knowledge of Poly Pro/PVDF piping and welding
- Ability to read and understand prints
- Diagnose piping issues and correct in the field
Skills
- Effective communication skills
- Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.)
- Familiarity with enterprise CMMS (Computer-Aided Maintenance Management System) software and Confluence
