Upper School Comprehensive Counselor

About the role

The Upper School Comprehensive Counselor supports students in grades 6-10, working closely with teachers and families to advocate for student success. Responsibilities include leading the advisory program curriculum and fostering collaborative relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supporting students who are struggling personally and academically
• Working with teachers and Deans to advocate for student success
• Leading the advisory program curriculum
• Fostering positive relationships with students, teachers, and families
• Supervising duty hours
• Participating in 'ohana education meetings
• Full participation in the life of the school

Requirements

• Effective communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
• Prior experience working with middle and high school-age students
• Experience differentiating academic and social-emotional support
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in groups
• Ability to design and implement social-emotional and health programming
• Assessing student learning needs and supporting families and students
• Strong work ethic, adaptability, generosity, sense of humor, and confidence working with adults and youth
• Commitment to and alignment with the School's mission and vision

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in counseling, education, or a related field
• Current counseling license with intent to maintain licensure
• 5+ years of relevant teaching experience preferred

Pay

Pay range for a full-time Comprehensive Counselor, Grades 6-10, for 26-27, depending on years of experience and education: $65,000-$85,000
