About the role
The Upper School Comprehensive Counselor supports students in grades 6-10, working closely with teachers and families to advocate for student success. Responsibilities include leading the advisory program curriculum and fostering collaborative relationships.
Responsibilities
- Supporting students who are struggling personally and academically
- Working with teachers and Deans to advocate for student success
- Leading the advisory program curriculum
- Fostering positive relationships with students, teachers, and families
- Supervising duty hours
- Participating in 'ohana education meetings
- Full participation in the life of the school
Requirements
- Effective communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Prior experience working with middle and high school-age students
- Experience differentiating academic and social-emotional support
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in groups
- Ability to design and implement social-emotional and health programming
- Assessing student learning needs and supporting families and students
- Strong work ethic, adaptability, generosity, sense of humor, and confidence working with adults and youth
- Commitment to and alignment with the School's mission and vision
Qualifications
- A master’s degree in counseling, education, or a related field
- Current counseling license with intent to maintain licensure
- 5+ years of relevant teaching experience preferred

Pay
Pay range for a full-time Comprehensive Counselor, Grades 6-10, for 26-27, depending on years of experience and education: $65,000-$85,000
