Upper and Lower Elementary Teacher Positions

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction aligned with Connecticut Core Standards and district curriculum.
  • Create a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement, leadership, responsibility, and a growth mindset.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and advanced learners.
  • Utilize assessment data, including district and classroom-based measures, to monitor progress, identify student needs, and inform instructional decisions.
  • Implement evidence-based instructional practices in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.
  • Establish clear expectations, routines, and procedures that support a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, interventionists, specialists, and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), data team meetings, and district professional development.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with families regarding student progress, learning goals, and classroom activities.
  • Integrate technology and digital learning tools to enhance instruction and student engagement.
  • Support students' social-emotional growth through positive relationships, responsive practices, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records, student data, and required documentation in accordance with district and state expectations.
  • Contribute positively to the culture, climate, and continuous improvement efforts of Woodstock Public Schools.

Requirements

  • Appropriate Connecticut State Department of Education Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with elementary-aged students
  • Experience with data-informed instruction, intervention practices, and collaborative team structures preferred
  • Familiarity with MTSS/SRBI frameworks and evidence-based literacy and mathematics practices preferred

  • Ability to design engaging learning experiences that challenge and support all learners
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and utilize student performance data to improve outcomes

  • Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Experience implementing inclusive practices and supporting diverse learning needs
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning platforms
  • Commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective practice
