Responsibilities

  • Champion the District's mission, vision, and collective commitments by placing students and their learning at the center of all decisions
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and other core content areas using district priority standards and curriculum resources
  • Implement rigorous and consistent Tier One instructional practices, using data to inform instruction and adjust to meet the needs of all learners
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where students feel respected, supported, and motivated to learn
  • Build strong relationships with students and establish clear expectations that support a respectful and productive learning environment
  • Participate actively in and contribute to professional learning teams (PLT) as part of the school improvement process at the district and school level
  • Differentiate instruction through whole group, small group, and individualized supports to meet the diverse needs of all learners
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress to families in a timely and meaningful way
  • Engage families as partners through consistent, clear, and collaborative communication
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to implement the District's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) framework, including identifying student needs and providing targeted interventions and supports
  • Integrate district and building goals into classroom practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Use district technology and instructional tools to support teaching, learning, and communication
  • Maintain professional growth through ongoing learning, reflection, and participation in district and self-selected professional development, including keeping teacher certification current
  • Supervise students and ensure their safety and well-being throughout the school day and during assigned duties
  • Administer district and state assessments in accordance with established guidelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
  • Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate
  • Demonstrated commitment to high levels of learning for all students
  • Ability to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and teamwork skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use student data to inform instruction, monitor progress and provide intervention/enrichment
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners

Conditions of Employment

  • The work year, salary, and fringe benefits will be consistent with the current agreement between the Board of Education and the Livonia Education Association
  • This position will remain open minimally through May 8, 2026 for consideration of employment for the 26-27 school year
