Job Overview and Requirements

Sportsplex is seeking Full time UPK teachers for its highly regarded Tot Time Preschool program. Ideal candidates are energetic, fun-loving, creative, and team-oriented, with a passion for early childhood education.

What you will be doing:

• Develop lesson plans with co-teachers based on a carefully designed curriculum
• Employ various educational techniques to teach children
• Observe children to enhance their social skills and boost self-esteem
• Encourage interaction among children and assist in resolving conflicts
• Organize and supervise nap and snack times to ensure safety
• Track and report children's progress to parents
• Communicate regularly with parents to support each child's success
• Collaborate with other educators to meet weekly and monthly goals
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom according to OCFS standards
• Be prepared to assist children for swim and tennis classes
• Use technology such as Class Dojo and Canva for communication and classroom displays
• Ability to learn and effectively use technology to support classroom activities

Essential Requirements

• NYS teaching Certification in Birth-grade 2 or NYS Teacher Assistant Certification, or working towards obtaining within the next 5 years
• Flexible schedule, primarily during the school year from 8:00 to 4:00
• CPR/FA certification required
• Knowledge of common core standards and familiarity with a curriculum
• Experience with classroom management to maintain a safe and productive environment
• Participation in professional development classes (minimum 15 hours per year)
• Bonus if familiar with FUNdations curriculum

Compensation and Benefits

• $18-$22 hourly rate, commensurate with experience and education
