Upfit Technician 2

Your Responsibilities

• Complete non-standard Upfit jobs and service repair work that may require problem solving, fabrication, electrical / hydraulic troubleshooting and sometimes creative solutions while continually developing skillsets for continued growth
• Chassis prep (minor modifications) / body mount / repair / 12v electrical / liftgate install, and quality inspection activities while adhering to all Wabash quality and EHS standards
• Follow all Wabash WPO guidelines and attain all certifications necessary for job role
• Work in a team environment
• Read the work order completely, check the VIN on the vehicle to insure you have the correct components and vehicle for the assigned job
• Mobile repair work (customer locations)
• Perform other duties assigned by management
• Capability to install liftgates of all makes and models

Physical Demands

• Requires minimum of eight hours standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements
• Frequently required to lift and carry up to fifty-five (55) pounds
• Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder, stairs, heights, platforms and climbing in and out of trucks and vans or working under trucks in tight spaces
• Must have ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools safely, work with compressed air safely, operate fork trucks, overhead cranes, and scissor lifts safely and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
