Department Summary
As the largest self-supported food service department in North Texas, UNT Dining Services sets the standard for campus dining with five dining halls, over 20 retail locations, an upscale restaurant, a hydroponic garden, a central scratch bakery, and full-service catering. About the Role
As the department’s lead graphic designer, this position focuses on print and digital graphic design projects and oversees social media, including managing part-time employees who handle web-related assignments. This role is part of Dining Services' in-house marketing team, producing media for dining halls, retail venues, an upscale restaurant, central bakery, catering, and meal plans.
Responsibilities
- Produce a variety of print and digital creative projects using industry-standard tools.
- Oversee the department’s social media presence, including creating a social media calendar, designing posts, monitoring responses, and benchmarking performance.
- Delegate tasks to part-time designers, providing creative direction and initial feedback before submission for approval.
- Serve as a professional role model and guide for student employees, motivating and setting high standards.
- Manage multiple assignments, organize tasks logically, and identify required resources.
- Communicate clearly in writing and orally, ensuring messages are understood and receptive to feedback.
- Follow procedures for leave, absences, and accountability, acting as a resource for others.
- Identify problems, analyze causes, and recommend or take corrective actions.
- Seek new tools, training, and learning opportunities to enhance skills.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a related field and one year of work experience in print, video, and/or electronic media production, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Understanding of principles, equipment, software, and practices in media design and production.
- Highly competent in using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Manual dexterity and physical ability to operate media equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 2 years of related experience.
- Experience maintaining a Modern Campus website.

Work Schedule
