About the role

Learn the day-to-day operations of the Waukesha Day Report Center (DRC) program. As time allows, there may be other opportunities to learn and observe the OWI and Drug Treatment Court programs.

Responsibilities

• Observe and participate in all essential functions of the Waukesha Day Report Center case manager position to gain a full understanding of the role.
• Participate in a range of evidence-based services to provide structure and accountability, including:
  • Facilitating new intakes and explaining the program components to persons served.
  • Conducting face-to-face supervision appointments to support compliance with all program requirements and terms of supervision.
  • Identifying and providing community-based services for supportive services based on need.
  • Conducting skill-building activities during supervision appointments.
  • Working with local treatment providers to ensure enrollment in and compliance with treatment.
  • Supporting people with compliance related to program, court, treatment, and electronic monitoring fees.
• Engage in internal team meetings and use professional judgement to make recommendations for responses to violations.
• Make collaborative decisions for treatment provider referrals based on people’s needs and ensure accountability and compliance with provider standards.
• Enter appropriate tracking in the WCS AWARDS and CORE databases, ensuring timely and complete data entry.
• Make collaborative recommendations to the Court, District Attorney’s Office, and the Department of Corrections Agents for response to violations.
• Ensure accurate and timely written and electronic files and court communication.
• Coordinate with the Electronic Monitoring staff and ensure routine check-ins for inspection of the bracelet and payment of fees, including addressing outstanding fees owed by people served.

Requirements

• Seeking students in the human services field at the associate's, bachelor's, or master's level.
• Follow agency Code of Conduct; adhere to established policies and procedures of the agency and all funding sources.
• Adhere to all laws and regulations regarding confidentiality of participant information and records.
• Conduct self in an ethical manner.
• Maintain professional and respectful relationships with program staff, other WCS staff, participants, and all external persons and agencies involved with service provision.
• Demonstrate sensitivity toward cultural, ethnic, and disability issues.
• Demonstrate commitment to agency core values and mission.
• Good hearing and the ability to communicate verbally.
• Hand and finger dexterity for data entry and typing.

Schedule

Minimum of one semester and at least eight hours per week. Anticipated work hours are between 8:00 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on Friday.

Working Conditions

• Most work will be done in the WCS Waukesha office at 414 W. Moreland Blvd, Suite 203, Waukesha.
• Background check required for this position.

Reports to the DRC Supervisor and the Post Conviction Services Program Manager. Has contact with a wide variety of individuals including individuals with criminal charges, courthouse and jail personnel, various criminal justice agencies, and other WCS staff.
