Unlicensed Journeyman Electrician - Underground

Duties & Scope

• Assembles, installs, maintains, and tests electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
• Prepares work areas for installation of equipment.
• Installs electrical components.
• Connects wiring and equipment according to code and job specifications.
• Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate (e.g., powder activated tools, JLG lifts).
• Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
• Reads blueprints and electrical drawings and installs as specified.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances according to drawings or plans.
• Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
• Secures and locks up equipment after use.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience working in Data Centers (must be verifiable).
• Journeyman Electrician Certification (required in some states, desirable in others).
• Proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
• Excellent working knowledge of building codes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Osha 10 certification.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, lifting heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds, and pushing and pulling of objects.
• Physical work is a primary part of the job (more than 70%).
