About the role
The University Risk Analyst leads university risk management operations, serves as the claims lead, and provides essential administrative risk functions in support of risk assessment, alternative risk financing, risk transfer, and risk control efforts.
Responsibilities
- Leads university risk management operations
- Serves as the claims lead
- Provides essential administrative risk functions
- Implements risk treatment, transfer, and mitigation strategies and tools
- Manages insurance placements, renewals, and certificates
- Manages claims management
- Develops and implements loss control processes
- Supports the Protection of Minors program
- Supports Worker’s Compensation program
- Processes and supports event waivers
- Provides risk management consultations
- May be called upon in the event of an emergency and/or university closure
Requirements
- Three years of experience in insurance, risk management, or related field
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in information analysis, organization, and presentation of complex information
- Experience researching, developing, and summarizing material and data for reports
- Experience researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of related work experience or a combination of education and related experience equal to six years
- Insurance industry coursework
- Risk management experience
- Experience in claims investigation
- Experience with website development
- Coordination of activities requiring complex arrangements
- Higher education administrative or management experience
- Knowledge of Banner applications for finance and human resources
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Establishing strong collaborative working relationships with all facets of a university community
