We serve as the primary, credible news source for the University of Kansas community.

Responsibilities

  • 50% – Editing assignments created by content generators
  • 40% – Assigning stories to content generators
  • 10% – Attending editorial meetings and training sessions

Requirements

  • During the semester term, the student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
  • For summer employment, the student must meet one of the following:
    • Enrolled in no fewer than 6 hours in the preceding spring semester, or
    • Pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no fewer than 6 hours, or
    • Enrolled in a summer session, or
    • Admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester
  • Undergraduate or graduate student status (GRA/GTA/GA exceptions do not apply)
  • Student employees are not eligible for remote work unless an exception is approved by unit leadership and HR
  • This is an hourly, non-exempt position; cannot be held concurrently with any salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA)

Pay

$12.50 per hour
