About the Role

This flexible part-time role offers 20 hours per week during weekday business hours, schedule Monday through Friday between 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. The Universal Banker (UB-Marshfield) fulfills the responsibilities of Teller, Personal Banker, and certain duties within the Business Banking Assistant position. You will provide exceptional service to an existing portfolio of consumer and business/agricultural clients, manage growth through proactive business development, advise customers on financial products and services, and process transactions. The role is accountable for loan, deposit, and revenue growth while expanding customer relationships and targeting new prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Engage clients with a warm, friendly demeanor, using the client’s name and thanking them for their business.
  • Drive new customer acquisition and manage an existing customer portfolio to ensure branch growth through sales skills, prospect identification, and follow-through on leads.
  • Attend community events, volunteer, and increase the Bank’s visibility within the market.
  • Actively participate in business development activities to attract profitable business for the Bank.
  • Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders, foreign currency, and gift cards for consumer and business customers.
  • Strictly adhere to all security, compliance, regulatory, and internal control procedures, policies, and laws.
  • Assist customers with account opening, maintenance, documentation, and utilization of bank technology and resources.
  • Accurately perform the consumer loan application process through closing.
  • Document client relationship information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Educate clients on self-service capabilities and encourage the use of digital service channels.
  • Provide administrative support to Business/Agricultural Banking Relationship Managers, including contacting customers for documentation, photocopying, scanning, and other miscellaneous duties.
  • Update knowledge and develop professionally through training and development opportunities.
  • Operate personal computers, office equipment (printer, calculator, fax, scanner/copier, multi-line telephone), and bank-specific software in a Windows environment.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience required.
  • Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree and previous banking experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to effectively use State Bank Financial operating systems.
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of highly confidential customer and Bank information.
  • Legible handwriting and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be bonded to obtain Notary certification.
  • Must have NMLS certification or the ability to obtain NMLS registration.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in an office environment during normal business hours, with occasional deadline pressure.
  • Regular mental and visual concentration required for computer usage and reading complex compliance information.
  • Position alternates between walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds of office supplies/documents.

Schedule

20 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8:30 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
