Universal Banker

The Universal Banker role varies day‑to‑day based on branch needs and involves responding to customers by processing a wide range of financial transactions, greeting clients, performing needs assessments, opening accounts, cross‑selling, tele‑consulting, developing relationships, and servicing accounts. The position also researches and resolves account issues, refers customers to other departments, manages and balances cash drawers, meets sales expectations, assists the Financial Center supervisor with teller line and end‑of‑day functions, and prepares daily paperwork according to branch procedures while working under general supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate a teller window to process deposits, withdrawals, payments, cash purchases, and cashier’s checks.
• Open accounts and resolve customer service issues via the platform.
• Provide an extraordinary client experience by following Spencer’s customer‑service behaviors.
• Research and resolve transaction errors, engaging management support when needed.
• Execute the internal sales process by engaging customers, identifying needs, and recommending appropriate products and services.
• Refer customers to the platform during teller transactions when appropriate.
• Adhere to the bank’s compliance, operational policies, and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork (CTRs, SARs, etc.) accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist the AFCM with end‑of‑day branch proof tasks, including ATM and vault reconciliation.
• Participate in internal, external, and community branch events.
• Work a flexible hourly schedule as requested and may travel to other branches in the network.
• Present a professional image and provide access to safe‑deposit boxes.
• Open and/or close the branch with management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years bank teller and/or platform experience preferred.
