About the role
Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service related to branch operations on the teller line, including sales and platform duties. This role supports individual and branch production goals, with shared responsibilities dictated by branch business needs.
Responsibilities
- Operate a customer service window efficiently and accurately using computer systems, sales skills, and product knowledge to provide exceptional service on various transactions, including:
- Verifying customer identities, transaction authenticity, and fraud protection measures (e.g., verifying balances, placing holds, documenting identification).
- Accepting deposits, verifying endorsements, and issuing receipts.
- Cashing checks or coupons, verifying endorsements and balances, and referring customers to management when needed.
- Handling savings deposits and withdrawals.
- Providing additional services such as bank money orders.
- Accepting loan payments and other types of payments.
- Balancing window cash daily.
- Performing ATM settlement and assisting in vault balancing where applicable.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting and exceeding sales goals by:
- Profiling customers to recommend appropriate S&T loan and deposit products.
- Utilizing sales tools (e.g., LoanFit, sales binders) to enhance customer experience and sales conversations.
- Completing the S&T sales process and documenting customer interactions in systems for future reference.
- Developing customer profiles, identifying banking needs, and closing business with follow-up calls to ensure satisfaction.
- Building professional relationships with customers to define needs and increase loyalty.
- Identifying add-on selling opportunities based on customer needs and S&T policies.
- Achieving CARE certification within 6 months of hire.
- Contribute to branch goals and sales/service standards as outlined in the branch playbook and by management.
- Execute professional sales and service behaviors aligned with the bank’s purpose, values, and core drivers.
- Perform follow-up calls to new account customers to assess satisfaction and generate leads.
- Make outbound calls to grow existing customer relationships using provided scripts and customer lists.
- Participate in branch sales call campaigns as needed.
- Process new account customers and changes to existing accounts, including data entry and documentation.
- Maintain existing accounts, answer customer questions, solve problems, and handle check orders.
- Prepare loan applications using LOS software and coordinate loan document preparation.
- Maintain strong working relationships with employees in other departments.
- Complete NMLS requirements for S.A.F.E. Act certification, including annual registration maintenance.
- Assume additional duties as required, such as balancing ATMs and processing deposits.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to five years of general and specialized experience.
- Successful completion of the retail training program, including CSR and RSA training.
Physical Demands
- Operates a keypad device: 70% of the day.
- Operates electronic and office equipment: 20% of the day.
- Standing: 2 hours per day in a straight position.
- Sitting: 5 hours per day in a leaning position.
- Lifting: Routinely lifts up to 10 lbs. (2 times per day); maximum lift of 20 lbs. (one time per day). Occasionally lifts/moves up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity for typing and data entry: up to 40% of the business day.
- Close vision requirements: 18”-20” for computer work.

Pay
Salary range: $17.50 - $30.84 per hour. Offered rates and salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, experience, education, and position-specific skills. Incentive-eligible roles are compensated based on plan documents and company/individual performance.
