About the role
Potomac Bank is seeking a Universal Banker I who enjoys interacting with people, building lasting relationships, and gaining important financial skills. The ideal candidate should be a multi-tasker with strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Interact with the public and resolve their questions or problems.
- Familiarize oneself with the bank's products and services and promote them.
- Identify and refer appropriate retail products to customers.
- Handle customer complaints and take appropriate actions to resolve them.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
- Process various transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
- Manage safety deposit boxes and assist with ATM balancing duties.
- Open and maintain consumer checking and savings accounts.
- Complete domestic wire forms and issue cashier’s checks and money orders.
- Enter transactions into the computer system and generate receipts.
- Balance cash drawer and count coins and checks at the end of each shift.
- Operate automated teller systems and night drop bags.
- Oversee the issuance of client checks through Harland Clarke and complete Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
- Ensure security by maintaining proper currency amounts, securing negotiables, and adhering to bank policies.
- Multi-task under pressure and maintain a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of prior customer service experience.
- A pleasant personality with an outgoing, service-oriented nature.
- Basic to advanced computer skills.
- Knowledge of bank operations and excellent communication skills.

- Basic skills in operating office equipment and ability to read and interpret documents.
